To start, I’d like to welcome Rua to Pleasant Interruption. He is one Bad Dude.
To finish, I’d like to draw your attention to something ASININE.
The Ontario government is going to begin denying driver’s licenses to high school drop-outs. RIDICULOUS (needs more caps).
Taking away priviledges isn’t the way to get people to not drop out of school. Providing more co-op programs and apprenticeships (like they say they will in the article) WILL help. But to me this seems like they’re putting a band-aid on a situation that requires a real solution. This “solution” isn’t addressing the main problem (that being the fact that people are dropping out of school for various reasons: lack of choice in programs, pecuniary reasons, or just not “doing well” to name a few. And high school isn’t for everyone). You don’t need to have a high school diploma to be able to drive.
And no, before anyone asks, I’m not being facetious.
