“Everyday is a G’Day in Australia……”

….until you log on to tsn.ca and see that Canada has lost to Switzerland, then Finland, and finally Russia. What the hell is going on?? I had to suffer the indignity of seeing Canada lose to Russia while watching the clock on the live scoreboard tick down the final 15 minutes of the game. Very depressing.

Other than that, things here have been pretty good, although this week has been a bit slow. I am just trying to get everything organized for school, which starts on the 27th. I don’t really know if I can call it school though, if I get into all my classes (all 3 that is) I will only have to attend class on Tuesday and Wednesday. 12 hours of class in two days, such a small price to pay for sweet sweet 5 day weekends.

On Wednesday I had my first orientation day, where I was told this disturbing fact. According to the courses I am taking and how much they are worth, I am supposed to spend 27 hours a week on school work, or 9 hours per each class. This is on top of the 12 hours of class time I have. I will let you know how many hours I put in after next week. In fact, I am going to start a betting site. The over/under on the amount of school work outside classtime that I do next week will be 4, over/under on time spent at the beach will be 15, send in your bets please.

On Wednesday night I was introduced to Australia’s favourite sport, Rugby. I played OzTag, which is basically flag rugby. Once I figured out the rules I did pretty well. Only problem was that I had to borrow these special shorts that the flags velcro too and these shorts must have been girls shorts. Let’s just say the upper thigh made a bit of an appearance, unfortunate because I have not had time for much tanning. Once I get my own shorts I will be a force to be reckoned with, mark my words.

This weekend should be a big one though, big night out in Sydney tomorrow night, then a big beach party for school orientation on Saturday, and off to Bondi Beach for Sunday, should be good times.

Anyway, I am off to plan my mini-vacation for my spring break, I get 16 days off in April or something like that, not too shabby.

How’s the weather over there?
